Just found a leftover giant tube of Smarties in the wardrobe in the spare room.
What?
Nothing wrong with that. You've got to hide stuff somewhere.
Anyway, as I stuffed a handful in my pocket I got thinking.
Why is it only the orange Smarties that actually taste of orange? By that I mean, why are they the only ones with a flavour other than chocolate? Even if you had your eyes tight shut, you would know that you were eating an orange one, wouldn't you?
Now then, if they can make the orange ones taste of orange, why can't they find flavours for the others?

Did you read E is for additives in the 80s?
ReplyDeleteHa ha - I've just replied to this comment - on another thread. I hadn't looked at the post, so assumed you were linking your question to the whole 80s thing and not to Smarties.
ReplyDeleteNow I understand. But even so, the e additives are surely mostly in the colours anyway arent they, so that wouln't really be an issue.
