Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

THIS IS HONESTLY...

... NOT SOUR GRAPES

BUT, I persuaded Charles to try and get out of the house for a bit this morning and, although he struggled, he DID manage to sit and wait for me in the Corbridge Larder. This is the new coffee shop, you may recall, where I missed out on the scone order because, for the only time in my life, I was too late and the decision had already been made.

Well, let me tell you, THEY MADE THE WRONG CHOICE OF SUPPLIER.

Although Charles wasn't up to it, because he's having real problems with his stomach at the moment, I tried a cheese scone and it was a) overcooked and almost black on the bottom b) heavy and stodgy and c) if there was any cheese in that scone I was unable to detect it.

I now feel really annoyed with myself for missing out on this opportunity, but at the time I had no idea there were other potential suppliers involved.

Also, I notice that they're selling slices of mass produced Battenburg and chocolate roll. Why? I though this was an upmarket coffee shop?

What a let down.

  1. Makes you want to rub their noses in the mass produced marzipan. Never mind, you could soon be producing haute pâtisserie to the foreign legion. Bespoke "Tooncakes" will be an interesting and surely profitable new direction...c'est une bonne idée non?
