Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

COFFEE MACHINE...

... all packed up AGAIN and ready to be picked up sometime today. It's going straight to DeLonghi this time, not just to their recommended repairers, so we'll hopefully have it back and fully functioning by the end of the week. In the meantime, Central Bean here I come!

Got another couple of cake orders this weekend - a retirement cake and a birthday cake for a grandad who enjoys playing the piano with his grandson - now THAT'S going to be a challenge!! Will need to start thinking about it pretty quickly as it's due to go in a couple of weeks, so not long to build my Steinway!

  1. Is it to be a Steinway grand or a Bechstein upright? I was taught to play on the latter. 88 keys in total, 36 black and 52 white.

This short film might provide a little innspiration:

  2. The Bechstein actually - thankfully.

I learned on a grand, but had a Bechstein at home for the totally joyless hour's practice in the unheated 'front room.'

I'm not at all convinced by what I've managed to create so far. perhaps once I've got all thse flaming keys on, it might look a bit more realistic.

As for "The Piano" I LOVE THIS ANIMATION - I'm assuming it's the one I'm thinking of as I haven't had a chance to look at it yet - but we used it at Heddon as part of a history/creative writing topic.
