LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

THIS MORNING'S...

tail obs is as follows.

Morning greeting tail: Although it's difficult to make an accurate assessment of the tail activity during this process as little frantic paws are busily scrabbling to attract attention, it was noticed this morning that the tails of both girls wag maniacally from side to side, almost at the speed of light, causing a blurring visual effect (although that may be the result of sleepy dust in my eyes) and very nearly enabling both girls to achieve lift off.

A further observation occurred just before they had breakfast, when a bird dared to alight on the fence outside the window. This resulted in crazed barking and tail activity, but the noticeable feature on this occasion was that, while Rose maintained the side to side wiggle, Lily had now moved on to the much more sophisticated circular motion which was carried out at a slightly more leisurely pace.

Fascinating stuff!!

  1. Mrs Ellis, it appears you are not treating this admittedly diverting yet serious Westie tail study with due gravity. It is an aspect of their behaviour which you have not yet touched upon in this blog. Perhaps you should leave the student bar for a while to attend lectures, tutorials and seminars a bit more regularly which is, as you know, usually a course requirement. I will overlook an apparently frivolous disregard for this strand of the canine case study on this occasion. However, failure to comply with minimum obligations in the future could trigger an emergency reassessment of your potential to successfully complete the course. You would do well to remember that a kitchen is not just for Christmas.
