... cooking a meal tonight, as lunch, which was rather nice actually, was also very filling and should sustain us through the evening.
It was lovely to see James again. We've done pretty well this week for getting together - and will probably see both him and Claire again tomorrow when we meet up with Helen and the clan to celebrate Bill's birthday.
The girls are enjoying having extra time with Charles these days and are currently snuggled up with him on the sofa watching telly. All very cosy!
Which reminds me - there has definitely been a bit of an Autumn nip in the air today and it certainly wasn't very cosy earlier, until I had to give in and turn the heating up. It's just coming up to 6pm and is already pretty dark and dismal - certainly a foretaste of things to come.
I think the fact that I'm busy with Christmas cakes at the moment is also contributing to the 'end of the year' feeling that I've got already. God - it's only September. Why does everything have to happen so far in advance these days? We never seem to have a chance to catch our breath, before we have to start thinking about the next essential event.
Grumble, grumble and moan-a-lot!

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!
