Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

Cakes a go go!

BIT OF A NIP...

... in the air this morning. Quite autumnal in fact.

As a point of interest, I can tell you that it is really bright and sunny - AND I'VE BEEN OUTSIDE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER.

YIPPEE!!

Mornings like this serve to remind me that usually we would be waking up on the 'Margaret Amelia' somewhere along the Thames during the last two weeks in August. There is something absolutely magical about waking up in the middle of nowhere to a misty morning on the river and watching the sun break through while munching bacon butties and drinking mugs of steaming coffee.

This is the first year we haven't been in ages - and I really miss it to be honest; we thought it might be a bit difficult with the dogs, but I'm sure we'll have them kitted out in life jackets next year!

All four of us (Helen, Bill, Charles and I) love life on the boat and have deemed ourselves 'River People'. We all have our roles on the boat and run a pretty tight ship to be honest. I've even got to the point where, if we happen to be in a lock, I can be cooking the breakfast in the galley AND manning the ropes at the same time!

Oh really wish I hadn't thought about it now!

(The very fact that I can be longing to be there, with the sun glinting off the water, must be the clearest indicator yet that my eye is almost back to normal. A few days ago it would have been my idea of torture.)
