The buffet I've been asked to do on Friday has suddenly gone from 50 to 30, then became sweets only, then reverted to sweet and savoury.
One thing I have learned from this: If I am going to continue to provide a buffet service I will be asking for a sizeable deposit on booking in order to cover my costs should the event be cancelled or scaled down.
Am not impressed at all. In fact, I am having second thoughts about the second event I've been asked to do for the same people in December.
