.... coming up and the weather is about to take a change for the worse, which is just about typical. I actually can't remember a decent May Bank Holiday - it always seems to be really cold and miserable.
Charles has taken the girls for their early walk before leaving for work and I was planning to take them out again shortly, but looking at the black clouds that are gathering over the Cheviots I may leave it for a while!
Most of our weekend plans revolve around getting the garden tidied up and that will be okay as long as it stays dry, although would clearly have been more pleasant if it had been a bit warmer.
The girls are off to the groomers at 9.30 tomorrow morning. I've no idea how long they'll be there, but imagine it could take a while to get them sorted. They're both quite good about being washed and brushed, so I hope they'll give her a relatively easy time. Once they've had their new dos I'll make sure we post some pics so you can see how smart they are!
Forgot to mention that we brought back tee-shirts from the States for them! One is NYPD and the other is FDNY. They haven't worn them yet, but may well need to if they're going to be shorn AND the weather is going to turn nasty!!
We are having some success with the dried food, although Lily has started turning her nose up initially and needs a bit of persuasion to get started. I'm giving them the suggested amount, which actually seems quite a lot and takes them AGES to eat. In the past they have managed to wolf down their meals within seconds! The thing with the girls is that they seem to think that if they don't eat it all in one go, it will disappear, and the idea of grazing, like Dannymatt's girls, is somewhat alien to them. However, this morning, I noticed that they DID leave some food at breakfast time and have returned to their bowls occasionally for an extra little nibble, so maybe they'll begin to relax a bit about their meals once they get used to the change.
(As I write, Rose has returned to the bowl and is rolling a dried pea around the floor making a great game out of it. Stop playing with your food Rose!!)
