Young At Heart

LILY & ROSE

Here are some photos of Lily & Rose. There are a few from the first time we saw them when they were just 4 weeks old. They would fit on your hand at this age and didn't look much like westies!

OUTNUMBERED

Has anyone else discovered this sitcom yet?
It has got to be the most original family-based comedy on TV, largely due to the incredible cast (Hugh Dennis is the dad) especially the three kids. It's either a pretty dysfunctional family - or a fairly normal one, depending on your own situation, but most of the kids lines are totally unscripted and the adults have to work round that. The result is half an hour of spontaneous craziness, that just seems so real!
I've become addicted to it and have just ordered the first two series from Amazon.
If you haven't caught it yet, I can absolutely recommend it. It's too good to miss!

  1. In my humble opinion this BBC sitcom style wore thin many many years ago - London, Victorian house, educated middle-class. I watched one and found it extremely tedious. Dennis is a failed stand up with his equally unfunny partner Punt. The USA knows how to do situation comedy much much better and has done since the Dick Van Dyke Show. You might remember some of these as a child, a teenager, a young adult and a mother...(to be cont.)

  3. Okay...
First off, if you've only watched ONE you've not given it a chance.
Secondly, I totally agree with many of your alternatives (I've never heard of "Ren and Stimpy" or "Chico and the Man" - just not as alternatives. I adored "Bewitched" and "Mork and Mindy" and even "The Beverly Hillbillies" (God help me) and was in love with Davy Jones for years, but don't think they can be compared with "Outnumbered" because of the totally different approach and use of improvisation. I think I love it because the kids are brilliant - and are just being so abnormally normal. If it was scripted and staid it wouldn't have nearly the same appeal.
