I think we'll wait until tomorrow!
The puppies have been so sleepy this afternoon, I didn't want to disturb them to come with me, but actually couldn't really be bothered to go at all if I'm honest.
They've woken up after about two hours kip, but were clearly WOKEN by something going on outside and now, after a quick wee - outside - they're settling down AGAIN to finish off what they'd started!
So far today we have had NO PUDDLES INSIDE AT ALL. This is good news, especially after last night's little setback. We're beginning to get to the stage when a verbal prompt ensures the desired reaction. It does feel a bit silly to be standing outside the front of the house saying, 'Pee, pee, pee, pee, pee...' in a sort of high pitched and encouraging tone of voice, but it DOES seem to be working.
(Charles hasn't quite got the pitch sorted out and needs to work a bit more on the encouraging tone!!)
Both puppies are beginning to let me know when they need to go outside - so that is also a step in the right direction.
Actually, I have done very little today - apart from the initial manic activity associated with Rose's hind quarters that is. Of course I always do the cleaning and the washing and ironing in the morning, but I've usually got all that sorted by 8.30 and then move onto other 'stuff.' But today is the first day I have felt truly lazy! I've spent the afternoon reading - nothing heavy, just a Marion Keyes chick novel, but I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. And do I feel in the least bit guilty? NOT ONE BIT!
The puppies made me chuckle earlier! I have to admit that Lily is very definitely Charles's puppy. She is quite happy during the day for me to feed her, make sure she has somewhere cosy to sleep, clear up after her and give her treats when she's being a good girl with her training schedule, but when Charles comes home, all that is forgotten and she goes into laid back raptures, and would happily spend the entire evening in his arms! However, this afternoon she was quite happy to have a lovely cuddle with her 'Mum' - I was truly honoured! - but Rose didn't like it one bit and had a paddy because Lily was getting the cuddles and SHE wasn't.
Anyway, she went off to sulk in her bed and the next time I looked she'd got her collar off and was chewing the fastener. In fact she's managed to break the end off it completely, so she needs a new one now. I haven't a clue how she's done it, but fortunately I DID have a spare collar which she is now wearing much to LILY'S disgust!
Talk about sibling rivalry though!!
(I must remember to get more spare collars just in case we have more emergencies - it would have been awful if it had happened when we were out for a walk!)
