That's what the weather has been like today. Absolutely miserable, it's never really been light - the perfect day for going to town really.
Helen, Bill and I set off early thinking the shops would open at 10am, only to find that nothing actually opens until 11 on a Sunday. Actually, I tell a lie, Fenwicks were open at 10.30 - but you can't actually pay for anything until 11. What a pain!!
Never mind, we were not thwarted. We enjoyed coffee in Starbucks, then sauntered round until it was time to start serious shopping. Poor Bill was going to go to the newly refurbished Hancock Museum (the last time he tried to do this, he got to the door and was told it had just closed. When he asked when it would be open again, he was told - in two years time!!!!!) However, he is obviously not meant to get in at all, because when he turned up at ten o'clock this morning, he discovered that it doesn't open until two on a Sunday, so he had to come shopping instead! Anyway, we all managed to get lots of stuff from our lists and were able to cross these off merrily as we enjoyed our lunch. We managed another hour of spending money after lunch, then all decided we'd had enough and went home with a quick stop on the way at Heighley Gate.
Charles meanwhile had spent the morning with the puppies. He also managed to get a new video posted. Thanks Charles, it's great. (I wonder what the pups would think if they knew that the black cat spends part of every morning in our back garden!!)
