But the solution to the problem has just presented itself! Now that they have made the chew go all soggy it is easy to CUT IN HALF!
I now have two contented pups chewing away furiously as if their lives depended on it!
I'm also drying out some lamb's liver in the oven. This needs to be cooked until really dry, then it can be cut into tiny pieces and stored to use as training treats.
As far as training is concerned, this week we are going to concentrate on 'stay', 'leave' and to learn the names of a toy so that we can say, 'Get the BALL.' We also need a lot more lead practice as the puppies have still not got the idea of walking close, so 'heel' is another command they need to learn.
I tell you what, it's not easy being a little puppy. Nor is it easy being a puppy owner!! There's always something to be learning - and that applies to all of us.
For example Charles learned this morning that just because a puppy was in one place a moment ago, they may not be there a second or two later, as he discovered when he caught Lily's paw in the gate when he was leaving for work. Like I said the other day - you need eyes in the front, back and sides of your head, especially when there are two pups to watch out for.
Aah - this is better! Lily and Rose are both asleep in their bed now. Neither of them had a good sleep earlier, so this might get them back on track.
